What a lovely weekend we have had here in Knoxville! Friday night’s talent show at The Mason Jar Shines was exquisitely good. Poetry, prose, new music, and salsa dancing? Boxed wine in mason jars? David Johnson’s chocolate chip cookies? Yes. Yes indeed.
Today brought a deluge. This meant I got to wear my yellow rain boots with zebras on them.
Tonight we drove out to our old alma mater to enjoy dinner, our great friends, and a summer’s evening stroll with their giant, goofy hound dog, Merle.
And now, we are back in our rabbit hole. After reading my old “House O’ Dreams” description, I made a couple minor changes inside to make the words come to life. I put our braided rug in front of the fire place and made a cozy little nest there.
Instead of that hypothetical chocolate lab, here lies a healing Uncle Andrew in his flower basket, bound in a ridiculous cat cast, signed by most of our friends. Do you guys think it’s really awesome that I’m a crazy cat lady? Hope so. I never saw this coming.
I love the collection of frames above the mantle. I just collected frames that caught my eye at thrift stores, painted them the same color, and filled them with burlap. I’m in the process of putting an order in at snapfish.com for some photos to fill them. (Fifty free prints for new users today and tomorrow only!) Here’s what I have picked out so far:
A million tomorrows shall all pass away
Ere I forget all the joy that is mine today.
Savoring today,
Mary Ann
